Here is the line-up for the 11th Femme Filmmakers Festival. Filmotomy’s Senior Editor Hannah Taylor and I watched every short film submitted, and determined after much discussion which films would be selected for the 2026 event, as well as where each short film would place.
Just to refresh, the Competition Selection is made up of recent enough short film releases, with the Showcase Selection being those out of competition and pre-season short films. Of course, with an amazing impact last year, we welcome back the Entrée Selection which is purely dedicated to student films. There are actually a select few student films that made it into the Competition Selection also on this occasion.
The feature films were curated over several months and many conversations. The feature films won’t necessarily be screened online as the short films will be, but they will certainly be part of the festival. There will be reviews, audio and video discussions, as well as encouragement for mutual online watch-alongs.
Please have a look at the following 61 films, and get ready to mark your calendars when we shortly present the screening guide for the short films. As well as all the details of what is to come during those 10 days between 14th and 23rd August. Congratulations to all the filmmakers and their teams, and can’t wait to see you at the 11th edition.
